What happens when a traditional folk musician wanders into a world of oscillators, breakbeats, granular textures, and sonic chaos?
You get Sweet Songs Laboratory—my most ambitious project to date.
This 19-track double album is the result of several years of late-night experiments, deep listening, hard resets, and a relentless curiosity about what music could be if I let go of genre boundaries.
🔬 Why a “Laboratory”?
Because that’s exactly what this album became: a space for risk, trial, and transformation. The studio turned into a sandbox of frequencies—part dance floor, part physics experiment, part sonic therapy session. No expectations. Just raw emotion, modulated.
Each track is a document of process. A mood. A dream. A controlled collapse.
I didn’t set out to make a "cohesive" album. I set out to explore.
🌀 The Vibes: What You’ll Hear
You'll hear:
-
Echoes from ancient oceans and the quantum future
-
Deep psytrance grooves that fold in on themselves
-
Basslines made from field recordings and broken synths
-
Compositional collisions between logic and feeling
-
Textures that shimmer, collapse, and reform
-
The tension between peace and noise—beauty and disorder
Tracks like “Quantum Pulse” and “Desert Pulse” tap into movement and momentum, while “Whispers of Gantangqing” and “Ancient Ocean Kings” slow things down and invite stillness. Every piece was made with intent—even the chaos.
🚀 Where It Comes From
I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that sound is time made tangible. That every tone, glitch, or silence holds something sacred if you really listen. My roots are in acoustic instruments—mandolin, fiddle, guitar—but this album is about the places those instruments can't reach.
It’s not a departure from who I am—it’s an expansion.
💿 Why a Double Album?
Honestly? Because I couldn’t stop. Every track unlocked another pathway. Every experiment birthed a sibling. When I tried to cut it down to a single album, it lost its dimension. I realized it needed to be a full document—start to finish—of the season I’ve been in.
This is what experimentation sounds like. What risk sounds like.
What freedom sounds like.
🎧 How to Listen
Play it through. Or jump around. Crank it loud. Or listen in headphones in the dark. There’s no one way to experience this album. It's for dancers and dreamers, introverts and insomniacs, sonic explorers and casual seekers.
It’s meant to move you—literally or emotionally. Maybe both.
💬 One Last Thing…
This album isn’t backed by a label, a marketing team, or a hype machine. It’s just me—making what I love, hoping it resonates with someone out there. Every purchase helps me keep doing this. Every share matters. Every listen counts.
If you’ve ever wondered what a mandolin teacher from Western Mass sounds like when he falls headfirst into the unknown—this is it.
